Tahiti
Islands
Beyond the Ordinary
For the visitor
to Raiatea, the legends of this ancient
land add fascination to the many unique experiences:
+ Discovery of the sacred Mt.
Temehani Plateau by foot, horseback, or 4x4 safari.
+ Exploration by canoe of the Faaroa River and
the massive ancient temple complex of the legendary Taputapuatea.
+ Freedom of chartering a yacht in some of the most famous
sailing waters in the world.
Much more than a group of islands, Tahiti is
a wonderful state of mind, seducing honeymooners, romantics,
adventurers, and vacationers looking for a tranquil escape.
Here, around these South Seas isles, a romantic sunset sea
sends giant curls of turquoise breaking onto the colorful
reefs that protect the tranquil lagoons of warm, bright-emerald
waters and white coral-sand beaches.
Easier to travel to than you might imagine, Tahiti's Faa'a
Airport is under 8 hours by air from Los Angeles LAX
airport, with nonstop flights leaving nearly every day. As
far south of the equator as Hawaii is north, Tahiti is halfway
between California and Australia, on the same side of the
International Date Line as North America, and in the same
time zone as Hawaii - (only two hours behind California April-October
and three hours behind California November-March)
Read about my recent trip on a chartered sailboat in these
unforgettable isles. (Coming soon)
Old San Juan, Puerto
Rico

Old San Juan, with its cobblestone streets and historic
Spanish buildings, is one of the unique places of the Caribbean.
A great city for walking, shopping, eating and exploring.
The area along the waterfront, skirting the old city, has
been upgraded and is now a pleasant area enjoyed by many
cruise ship passengers and tourists as well as locals.
Beyond the city, Puerto Rico is a beautiful island.
