The Crystal product is revered by travel professionals, and the line has won the "World's Best Large Ship Line" awards from the readers of Travel & Leisure and Conde Nast Traveler. The six-star-rated, 940-guest Crystal Harmony and Crystal Symphony feature expansive decks, spacious lounges, flexible gourmet dining with two alternative restaurants, one of the best cruise ship winelists, an Ambassador Host program for single travelers, a state-of-the-art fitness facility, a lavish spa, a Caesars Palace at Sea casino, and exquisitely appointed staterooms and penthouses, more than half of which offer private verandas. Crystal ships do not repeat the same itinerary for a season, but instead roam the world's seas on unique and exotic and generally longer itineraries.

Holland America Line
Holland America has rejected the mega-ship model for its new ships, opting instead to build beautiful "smaller" big ships, such as her newest, the 1440-passenger Zaandam, which entered service May 6, 2000. With this ship, Holland America fans will find the classic artwork and antiques and the familiar layout of the Statendam-class vessels – but what is different are bright colors and fanciful touches. The ship has a music theme, with an ornate, three-deck-tall pipe organ filling the central atrium, and electric guitars and other musical instruments signed by such famous rockers as Mick Jagger and David Bowie.

Other features of the ship include a computer room with eight terminals and internet access. Holland is the perfect choice for families as well as couples – all age groups are nicely accommodated.

Holland America Line has a fleet of 11 ships, fabulous "floating resorts" that cruise to worldwide destinations.

Norwegian Cruise Line
With the recent launch of two new megaships, the Sun and the Star, NCL has introduced their "Freestyle Cruising" product, seen as a departure from the traditional cruise venue. Key to this concept is the offering of far more dining choices. The Star has 10 restaurants, many eateries and lounges, with a great variety of decor and cuisine to appeal to many tastes. The Star offers 107 166-square foot minisuites. The ship also has two Garden Villas, sumptuously furnished duplexes with 3 bedrooms and baths, a grand piano in the living room, butler service and a jacuzzi on the private terrace.

Orient Lines
Orient Lines offers 12-26 day cruises to wonderful destinations on all seven continents at affordable prices. The 800-passenger Marco Polo is a lovely and well-loved ship that has gained a loyal following cruising the world’s seas. This year the line acquired the beautiful ship built for the (now extinct) Royal Cruise Line—the 1,050-passenger Crown Odyssey.

With its two ships, Orient Lines now offers in-depth itineraries to the Med, Antarctica, New Zealand, Australia, Southeast Asia, India, Africa, Norwegian fjords, Baltic capitals and South America. All itineraries combine a cruise with included hotel stays and city tours in embarkation and/or disembarkation cities. Orient Lines offers exotic and in-depth cruise travel experiences at very good value pricing.

Princess Cruises
With the "Grand Class" series of 77,000 ton, 1950 passenger ships, the Sun, Dawn, Sea and Ocean, and with the triplet of new 109,000 ton megaships carrying 2,600 passengers, the Grand, Golden and Star, Princess defines the cruise experience for many cruisers. These include people of all ages, families, first time cruisers and loyal Princess passengers who have stayed with the line since the days of Love Boat and ships that carried only 600 or so. Actually, Princess still has the Love Boat, the venerable 640-passenger Pacific, doing Bermuda cruises from New York most of the year. For old times sake perhaps, because Princess has a very modern and technologically advanced cruise product. Princess has proven to be visionary and innovative in understanding and delivering what people want. They have trademarked the concept of "what you want, when you want" by which they promise choice and flexibility, affordable balconies, multiple dining options, flexible entertainment, an abundance of activities and new and interesting itineraries. This is cruising in the 21st century, and it’s great.
